October 21-26, 2018 (SC0050)

This program takes place in charming downtown Ashland with accommodations at the historic and beautifully renovated Ashland Springs Hotel.

The Play’s the Thing!

Theatre Instructor: Christiana Clark

There’s a special bittersweet feeling in October at the end of the season at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Join us in Ashland as we explore Shakespeare’s Othello and the role “honest” Iago plays in this poignant tragedy, visit the birth of the American West in The Way The Mountain Moved and spend some time with a mature king as he embarks on a successful conquest of France in Shakespeare’s history play Henry V. Examine innovative approaches to telling these stories on stage and discuss design decisions made by theatre artists and their impact on your experience of the performance. In addition to the OSF performances, spend an evening at the Oregon Cabaret Theatre enjoying Steve Martin’s absurdist comedy Picasso at the Lapin Agile – with dessert, of course!

Program includes pre- and post-show discussions with an OSF professional artist who will introduce characters and background information for each performance and provide guest instructors to help you get the most out of your theatre experience.
